What do I do if I need extra help getting out of the building in the case of an emergency?

Would you need any additional help if there was a fire? Is there anything you want to tell us, for example do you use Oxygen at home, or would you need assistance to leave the building? Please contact us and let us know at Compliance@dacorum.gov.uk.

What happens when things go wrong?

We understand that occasionally things go wrong, so we make it as simple as possible for you to raise your concerns. If you think we (or someone acting on our behalf, such as a contractor) have done something we shouldn’t, or haven’t done something we should, you can make a complaint.

You can report your complaint on our website at www.dacorum.gov.uk/complaints or via our telephone contact centre, or in person at one of our offices. We will investigate all complaints, respond as quickly as possible, and learn from your feedback.

We will acknowledge your complaint within five working days of receipt and explain how we plan to investigate it. We will also let you know if we cannot deal with your complaint under our policy.

How can you get involved to improve the services and community?

The Council has a variety of ways to engage with the activities and have your say on services or even become more involved and help out your local community.

    You can get involved by:

    • Answering surveys
    • Actively participate on this Engagement HQ page
    • Be a Block Champion
    • Become part of the Tenant Improvement Group
    • Request to join focus groups (When they are organised we will get in touch.)
    • Register for the waiting list to be part of the Tenant and Leaseholder Committee (TLC)
    • Register for the waiting list to be part of the Supported Housing Forum (Supported Housing Residents Only)

To find out more and to register your interest on our ‘Get Involved’ web page: www.dacorum.gov.uk/get-involved

    How do we work together?

We want to work with you. Please ring us or take part in our surveys and consultations. Residents in our blocks are best placed to influence our building safety decision-making.

You are likely to meet our staff during our regular door knocks and site visits to Kylna Court. We will let you know about forthcoming engagement opportunities by sharing information on social media and on our website. We hope you will also follow our Dacorum Borough Council Facebook page or other social media.
