We are reviewing our Statement of Licensing Policy.
Why are we doing this?
To comply with Licensing Act 2003 laws, we are required to review and refresh our Statement of Licensing Policy in line with updates to Statutory Guidance, changes to legislation, and local changes every five years.
What is proposed?
We are proposing three local updates,
changes for applicants for larger events in line with the commencement of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025;
Encouraging applicants in appropriate premises to take up voluntary schemes to assist vulnerable people in night time economy settings; and
To encourage the inclusion of preventative measures to prevent incidents of spiking in appropriate premises.
The remainder of changes are updated links. You are invited to comment on the revisions, or the Statement generally.
Once consultation ends on 3 July 2025. We will consider the responses received and present them to a future meeting of the Licensing Committee. The report will be available to everyone that takes part in the consultation and a copy will be available on our website.
