Call for Sites
Dacorum Borough Council is in the process of scoping its future Local Plan to 2045. The 'Call for Sites' is an early opportunity to suggest sites within the Borough that could be suitable for future development.
The call for sites opens at 12pm on 11 September and closes at 5pm on 23 October 2026.
What is the Call for Sites?
A call for sites provides a useful opportunity to identify potential development sites that may not have previously been brought forward. It invites developers, landowners, public organisations and members of the public to suggest areas of land that they consider suitable for development. The sites submitted can then be assessed, with those considered most suitable potentially being selected for allocation through the local plan process.
Do you have a site that you think we should consider?
We would like to hear about any sites that could potentially be suitable for the development of a range of uses including:
Housing
Employment
Retail
Sports, Leisure and Community facilities
Gypsy and Traveller accommodation
Renewable energy
Green infrastructure, biodiversity or nature recovery (including SANG)
Other land uses or development opportunities
What happens when you submit a site?
All sites submitted will be considered as part of the evidence-gathering process for the new Local Plan. We will assess sites against a range of factors, including their suitability, availability and potential deliverability. Submitting a site does not mean that it will be allocated in the Local Plan or that planning permission will be granted. A site may be considered unsuitable for a range of reasons, including environmental, infrastructure, accessibility or other planning constraints.
Site submissions will help us understand the range of land available and inform the preparation of the Local Plan and its spatial strategy. Any sites proposed for allocation in the Local Plan will be subject to future public consultation and independent examination before any decisions are made.

Please complete our Call for Sites form for each site you wish to put forward. If you are submitting multiple sites, please complete a separate form for each site.
You should provide as much information as possible about the site, including its location, current use, ownership or control, potential future use and any known constraints. You do not need to own a site to suggest it, but please provide as much information as you can about its ownership and availability.
We are requesting that submissions are accompanied by a shapefile of your site's red line boundary so that we can map the site digitally.

If you are submitting more than one document as part of your representation, please ensure all documents are included in a compressed (.zip) folder, and upload this below. The maximum file size is 200MB, if your representation is larger than 200mb please contact Strategic Planning.
