We have begun preparing the future Local Plan for Dacorum to 2045 under the new plan-making system, introduced by the government in March 2026.
The Scoping Consultation is the first stage of community engagement as part of this process, and gives you the opportunity to help shape the future Local Plan from the beginning.
We want your views on:
what the future Local Plan for Dacorum to 2045 should contain and the priorities it should address; and
how you would like us to communicate with you in the future and which types of events or material you find most useful.
We have also carried out a baselining exercise to understand the issues and opportunities facing Dacorum. This evidence will help inform the early development of our new vision. You can view the baselining information in the interactive ArcGIS StoryMaps, and reviewexpanded information in the Baselining Technical Note.
The Scoping Consultation will run from 12pm (noon) on Friday 11 Septemberuntil 5pm on Friday 2 October 2026.
