The consultation on the Dacorum Local Plan to 2045 has now closed.
The Scoping Consultation ran from 12pm on Friday 11 September until 5pm on Friday 2 October 2026. We would like to thank everyone who took the time to share their views and help shape the early stages of the future Local Plan for Dacorum.
We will now review and consider all responses received. The feedback will help inform the ongoing preparation of the Local Plan and our approach to community engagement.
Further information about the Local Plan to 2045 and opportunities to get involved will be published on this website as the plan progresses.
Please note: the separate Call for Sites remains open until 5pm on Friday 23 October 2026.
About this Consultation
We have begun preparing the future Local Plan for Dacorum to 2045 under the new plan-making system, introduced by the government in March 2026.
The Scoping Consultation was the first stage of community engagement as part of this process, and asked for your views on:
what the future Local Plan for Dacorum to 2045 should contain and the priorities it should address; and
how you would like us to communicate with you in the future and which types of events or material you find most useful.
We have also carried out a baselining exercise to understand the issues and opportunities facing Dacorum. This evidence will help inform the early development of our new vision. You can view the baselining information in the interactive ArcGIS StoryMaps, and reviewexpanded information in the Baselining Technical Note.
