Eastwick Row Update
Dear Resident
Update on new housing development at Eastwick Row:
I am writing to give you with an update on the new housing development at Eastwick Row, Hemel Hempstead.
As you are aware, the previous contractor went into administration in March 2023 and since then we have been working towards re-procuring the contract to finish the development. During this period, the site has been secured and managed to prevent unauthorised entry and anti-social behaviour. We recognise that looking at an unfinished construction site is not ideal and we have been working hard to get the construction work restarted.
Following the council’s Cabinet approval on 30th January 2024, I am pleased to confirm that the successful contractor for the completion of the development is Bugler Developments Ltd. who are a locally based contractor from Rickmansworth. They are already delivering a number of new housing development contracts for Dacorum Borough Council in Hemel Hempstead and the surrounding areas and we have confidence that they will try and keep disruption to the local community to a minimum.
Dacorum Borough Council is at the forefront of providing superior quality affordable homes in the area for those in the greatest need and is committed to providing new housing to meet this demand. We will be providing another update in due course once we know the new timeline for the completion of the new development. Once Bugler Developments have started the work on site, they will issue regular newsletters to keep you all informed.
Finally, we apologise for any inconvenience this situation is causing you and other local residents but we are working hard to complete this development programme as soon as possible.
Yours faithfully
Ian Johnson
Housing Development Senior Project Manager
