The Council recently approved the decision for a Community Governance Review (CGR) to take place. Households included in the review have been contacted by letter.
A Community Governance Review considers parish electoral arrangements and may result in the creation of a new parish council(s) or adjustments to the boundaries of adjoining parish councils. Any such proposals will involve consultation with residents and other stakeholders.
There is currently an area of Dacorum that is unparished. For more details on the areas this includes please see the link to the council's Community Governance Review Website.
The purpose of this consultation is to seek the views of the community and stakeholders to ascertain if there is a local need to review the unparished areas.
If you live within an area that has a parish council, each household will have to pay some additional council tax, called a ‘Parish precept’. This money goes towards employing staff, providing services and undertaking projects taking place in the parish. Further information is available on our Community Governance Review Website. The first consultation is open from Monday 16 March 2026 till Friday 1 May 2026.
