What is MyDacorum?
MyDacorum is an online portal that lets residents securely access council services in one place including Council Tax, housing rent accounts, bin collections and quick‑fill forms.
How do I register for a MyDacorum account?
You can register by providing your name, email address and creating a password. If you want to link Council Tax or housing accounts, you’ll also need your account or tenancy number.
Where can I find my Council Tax number or tenancy ID?
Your Council Tax account number is shown on your latest bill. Your tenancy ID appears on the top left-hand corner of rent statements or other tenancy documents. If you can’t find them, the council can help verify your details.
Why do I need Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA)?
MFA adds an extra layer of security to protect your personal information. You’ll be asked to verify your login using a code sent to your chosen method, such as email or an authenticator app.
What services can I access once I’m logged in?
You can view Council Tax statements, check rent balances, see bin collection dates, submit forms faster using saved details and manage your personal information.
Why can’t I see my Council Tax or rent information after logging in?
This usually means your account hasn’t been linked yet. You’ll need to enter your Council Tax or tenancy number to connect your records to your MyDacorum profile.
What should I do if I’m having trouble signing in or receiving my MFA code?
Check that your email or authenticator app is working and that your details are up to date. If issues continue, the council’s support team can help you regain access.
Is MyDacorum secure and is my information protected?
Yes. MyDacorum uses secure authentication and follows data protection laws to keep your personal information safe. Your details are only used to provide council services.
