A new video is giving residents a clearer look at the work being done to keep their homes safe.
In it, Welfare and Sustainment Team Lead Bianca Codescu introduces the Safe Homes team and explains what they do day to day. The video looks at how building safety is managed, what happens when problems are reported, and how the team responds when something goes wrong.
The aim is to make things easier to understand. It was created after tenants asked for more open and honest information about who is responsible for safety and how decisions are made.
Rather than using technical language, Bianca talks through her role in a straightforward way, explaining what their work means for residents and what people can expect if they need help.
The video offers a simple look at the people behind the service and how they help keep homes safe. Click here to watch.

"Thank you. This is a very welcome channel for residents. I have been a DBC tenant since 1996 and have always found the council to be efficient. The staff who come out are always polite. I have had conversations with Gavin, who advised on improvements, and with Neil, who advises on work that needs to be done to the property (e.g. kitchen, etc.). I have also spoken with people in finance, and I always feel comfortable calling or sending messages. Thank you."

We’re launching a new monthly YouTube series for council tenants, and we want your input.
The videos will feature housing officers and heads of service talking clearly about the services that affect your home and tenancy.
Before we begin, we want to know what you want to hear. By completing a short survey, you can tell us which teams should appear, what they should talk about, and what questions you want answered. Your feedback will directly shape future videos.
We are also asking about accessibility so we can make sure the videos are clear and easy to watch for everyone.
Take our short survey and have your say.
